My thoughts on the meaning of life

This is the kind of thing that humans have been puzzling over for eons, and really there is no answer to the question 'what is the meaning of life?', and for a lot of people that can be really daunting. But, really, I think the highly existential and pessimistic view towards the fact that there is no inherent meaning is all wrong. I'd like to focus on the phrase 'we're just small and insignificant', as it's something that I take issue with. This statement is only partially true. Yes, we're really quite small in our infinite universe, but we aren't in any way insignificant. On an individual scale, I don't think anyone is insignificant. Everyone makes some kind of impact, whether it be on the world or someone you pass on the street. There is really no such thing as a person that 'doesn't matter'. When looking at this in terms of the human race, we're really quite unique. Space and the universe around us is ever changing, even if it's very slowly by our standards. The point is, space is not stagnant and space is inhospitable. However, in our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago, a planet with water formed right in the goldilocks zone and managed to stay generally unharmed just long enough for us to evolve. Humans as a species are so incredibly improbable, yet here we are. We are so rare, and I find a lot of comfort in that. We are small on our little planet, but we are unique and we are special. There may be no grand or absolute meaning to life, but I think our existence alone should be enough, no? If you focus on an end goal, you'll miss the journey itself - and that's the bit that really matters. I believe that instead of scrambling to create an ultimate meaning to life, we should just appreciate it for what it is. The fact that we're alive at all is good enough meaning for me.

There’s a scam going around at the moment about accounts dm-ing people wanting them to draw/paint their pets, selfies and more. A specific one is accounts asking for their dog “Allison” to be drawn. This is a SCAM!
