No because literally what we’re they thinking

genuinely. there is something So disgusting to me about them building an entire season around

a villain who targets people who are already struggling and implied to be suicidal

the unjust demonization, alienation, and persecution of people who are different, namely those who are poor, neurodivergent, gay, etc.

and then those two building blocks of the season end with:

a poor, abused, suicidal teenage girl who fought tooth and nail to keep going ultimately being tortured to death and then stuck in a coma with all of her fucking bones snapped and her sight potentially gone

a poor (idk maybe gay maybe neurodivergent depending on how intentional you think certain things are) boy who only wants to fucking graduate high school and be a better person than his shitty father being falsely accused of murder, hunted down by people who want to kill him, painted as a coward by the narrative for making reasonable choices, ultimately dying a pointless death and being remembered as a murderer.

like. not to even mention the way that a gay kid's struggle with his sexuality and feelings for his best friend are ultimately just used to push that friend closer to his girlfriend. like. god i'll probably end up writing something more articulate about this later but i am So deeply disappointed and i don't understand why the duffers would choose to engage with these themes if This is how they were gonna handle them.

Once again, I have to remind everyone that a 14 year old girl was effectively pimped out to an old man by her father, then she was forced into giving birth to 4 children while experiencing consistent marital rape.

This isn’t Alicent’s first time experiencing misogyny, she has been a victim of it her whole life.

However, people in this fandom love to jump on the “hating Alicent” bandwagon without applying any level of critical thinking so they’ll have you believe that a child bride is the main villain on the show.

only a fandom as stupid as this one could watch a scene like this and come to the conclusion that it's "alicent's first time experiencing misogyny and she deserves it"

No because I’m looking back at all the posts from the cast and the Duffers and Netflix and I feel like there’s something we r missing. Like I don’t think that’s actually what was supposed to be viewed. Because like the painting???? And Mike didn’t have an emotional monologue. And like Will didn’t come out. I just- idk maybe I’m reaching but it doesn’t feel like what we were supposed to get
