Just updated the blog- now that the holidays are over I should be posting more frequently. Will also have some changes to the blog- I’ll be starting making posts that are more theory- based. Hope you had a happy New Year and Christmas!
The Originals: Aurora De Martel: ENFP 7w8
Myers Briggs: ENFP
Ne: Aurora is creative and always sees numerous possibilities. She is impulsive and opportunistic and reinvents her environment in order to achieve her goals. She is intuitive and it doesn’t take long for her to realize Klaus feels more for Cami than for her.
Fi: Aurora is authentic and emotional. She focuses primarily on her own emotions and uses her intuition about emotions to manipulate others. She struggles with feelings of worthlessness due to her Bipolar Disorder and is inwardly focused to the point of being self critical. She feels it is her fault her mother died during childbirth and sees herself as a monster. She also identifies with Klaus for this very reason, believing that she went through something similar to him and this initially strengthens their bond. On the other hand, blames others for problems she caused, refusing to believe it was her fault, like when she tries to harm Cami and then comes to despise Klaus for ending their relationship.
Te: Aurora can be efficient, but it is not her strongest area. She sometimes misses things that a stronger Te would not. She takes a step by step approach and becomes frustrated when others make mistakes.
Si: Aurora holds on to her memories of her relationship with Klaus, her feelings for him remained after a thousand years. She is quick to forgive Tristan despite the numerous times he locked her away over the years, instead looking up to and idealizing him as her protector.
Enneagram: 7w8
Aurora is hedonistic and seeks exciting activities. She is impulsive and scattered, always busy trying to achieve some kind of goal. She runs away from the pain she feels as part of her Bipolar Disorder, refusing to believe that Klaus doesn’t love her more than Cami. She is always optimistic about her goals. She also tends to dominate her environment, using force to manipulate her adversaries into giving her what she wants. She can be aggressive and vindictive, trying to get revenge on Klaus by killing Elijah to protect her brother by easing his suffering.
Temperament: Sanguine Choleric
Aurora is is vivacious and charming. She is also impulsive, enthusiastic and needs to be reassured that she’s loved. She is also a results oriented person. She is frustrated with inefficiency and is always working towards a goal.
Attitudinal Psyche: EVLF
1E Confident Emotion: Aurora is very emotionally expressive and reactive. She shows her feelings about everything and is very focused on her feelings. She trusts her intuition and is good at manipulating people’s emotions.
2V Flexible Volition: Aurora has strong willpower and wants to get things done. She has no problem telling people what to do in order to achieve her goals. She knows what she wants and how to get it. She is not as bossy or aggressive as Klaus.
3L Insecure Logic: Aurora can be very logical, but can be blinded by her emotions. She can become testy when people correct her logic.
4F Unbothered Physics: Aurora is a good fighter but not as focused on the physical world or her own physical needs. She is more affected by her own emotions and goals.
Stranger Things: Jane Hopper: ISFJ 6w5
Myers Briggs: ISFJ
Si: Jane has a deep connection to her past. She idealizes her friends and holds on to them even when they are apart, wearing clothing she got from them in her new life in California, where she is struggling to make new friends. She does struggle with amnesia, but has a strong connection to what memories she has, like her memory of her mother, forming an idealized image of her mother in her head despite not having interacted with her more than once, showing signs of latching onto one of her only emotionally significant memories that she has.
Fe: Jane is very focused on helping those she cares about. She defends Mike and his friends any time they are in danger, even if it puts her at risk. I originally typed her as an ISFP, but she cares too much about fitting in when she goes to California to be Fi. She doesn’t seem to mind trying to change herself to be accepted, even lying to Mike about making friends to save face, which an Fi user would see as inauthentic. She is very selfless, which plenty of Fi doms are, but she always seems to be doing everything for others and not herself, save for when she seeks out her mother. She’s very outwardly emotional and not afraid to say what she feels most of the time. She wants to fit in very badly, and tries hard to get Angela to like her, something an Fi user wouldn’t do- they would see this as going against their individuality. She is different and unique, but not because she wants to individuate herself or stand out. She wants to be accepted, but lacks the social experience to do so, which does not necessarily indicate Fi.
Ti: Jane puts all others’ needs ahead of her own, like when she tells Mike she is doing well in Lenora Hills because she knows it will make him happy. She doesn’t realize the Ti ramifocations, like what would happen if caught in a lie when Mike notices contradictions in her story. That isn’t to say she isn’t smart. She learns fast for someone who has amnesia, having forgotten most of what she learned as a young child due to her trauma she had experienced at age eight. She takes in everything she learns, bringing it all into her worldview, relearning a lot of the things she lost.
Ne: Jane can be overly reliant on idealizing the past, to the point of overstimating her ability to adapt to new scenerios. In California she tries to start over, but struggles to adapt to a new environment. She doesn’t have experience socially, and struggles to fit in. This could lead to arguments that she is Fi due to struggling to learn social values, an Fe strength, but Jane’s situation on Stranger Things isn’t somethinh a normal Fe user would. Jane lacks experience in a normal social environment, which could cause even a high Fe user to struggle socially. Jane understands the emotions of others very well, she simply struggles with adapting to new environments, indicating low Ne, not the absence of Fe. Jane also seems very prepccupied with the past when she does her historical heroes project on Hopper at the beginning of season four, choosing to focus on an important memory instead of living in the present. She struggles to let go of her past life, which is why she wears the clothes from her friends to keep a reminder of happy memories with her in the present.
Enneagram: 6w5
Jane has a strong desire for security. She is loyal to her friends and will do anything to protect them because they offer her another kind of protection- they care about her and show her compassion that Dr. Brenner had deprived her of at Hawkins Lab. Jane is always there for her friends- she goes to great lengths to keep them safe because they make her feel a sense of belonging. She tries to fit in at Lenora Hills High because of this need to belong, and is devastated when she does not have friends besides Will because of her 6’s desire for security through friends. She always sought security through friendship, from when she first met Mike and his friends, looking for people to make her feel loved. In return for this love, she offers her own love and uses her abilities to stop threats from the Upside Down to her friends. She is self reliant like a 5 wing, giving her an independent streak along with a possible 8 fix in her tritype- she is prone to anger and openly expresses it when threatened, and is very reactive. She struggles with feeling different, which might be a 4 fix, especially because she is highly emotional and reactive.
The Originals: Elijah Mikaelson: ISFJ 1w2
Myers Briggs: ISFJ
Si: Elijah internalizes traditional values, such as his family and his home. He is focused on past memories and helping Klaus become the person he once was. He pays close attention to detail and his internal senses, like his clothes. He remembers things from a thousand years ago in great detail.
Fe: Elijah is warm and empathic, especially to the ones he loves. He will do anything for the ones he cares about, and sees peace in New Orleans as the right way to protect his family. He creates group unity even when the factions of the supernatural community are at war with each other.
Ti: Elijah is analytical and notices logical inconsistencies in other people. He is very intelligent and perceptive about the world around him.
Ne: Elijah may be focused primarily on the past, but still looks to possibilities in the future and understands that the world is a dynamic, changing place. However, he refuses to believe that Klaus cannot go back to being the way he once was, except when they were estranged. This makes him extremely loyal to his brother and to his plan to help Klaus find his redemption.
Enneagram: 1w2
Elijah is very principled and perfectionistic. He seeks to improve the city of New Orleans so he can do right by his neice and help his brother redeem himself. Everything he does in New Orleans is to help Klaus become a better version of himself. He is very moral but also caring to his family and becomes upset when they do not reciprocate his affection. He denies his feelings for Hayley because he does not want to be what he sees as disloyal to Klaus, but he still takes care of her regardless. Elijah is willing to do anything for his family, even sacrifice himself, and feels his purpose is to serve his family.
OSPP Temperament: Phlegmatic Choleric
Elijah primarily wants to help people, specifically his family. He is caring and loving, wanting to do right by his family and especially Klaus. He is warm and accommodating and in season one seeks peace in New Orleans because it is right and will keep Hope safe when she is born. Elijah is kind but can be blunt and sarcastic when under stress. Elijah fights for what he believes in, which is defending his family and his home. He is efficient and does not tolerate others who oppose his plans to protect his family. He can be pushy about getting what he wants done, although not as pushy as Klaus, who is primarily Choleric.
Attitudinal Psyche: FVEL
1F Confident Physics: Elijah is very aware of his physical needs and wants. He is well dressed and likes to live in comfort. He likes to organize his environment in a pleasing way. He is a good fighter.
2V Flexible Volition: Elijah is a take charge person and when protecting his family will exploit others to achieve his goals, like when he kidnaps Elena in the Vampire Diaries in order to stop Esther’s spell. Elijah is not afraid to tell others what to do when in a leadership position, but is not as aggressive as Klaus, like when he strives to create peace in New Orleans in The Originals.
3E Insecure Emotion: Elijah is not as in touch with his own emotions and instead focuses on the emotions of his family and protecting them. He represses his feelings until they bubble to the surface, causing him to occasionally have outbursts.
4L Unbothered Logic: Elijah is not as focused on correct versus incorrect and takes his time formulating an opinion, and sometimes his feelings can cloud his judgement.
Heathers: Jason “JD” Dean: ENFP 4w5
Myers Briggs: ENFP
Ne: JD is creative and good at improvising. He figures out a way to cover up Heather Chandler’s death after impulsively tricking Veronica into killing her. He is intuitive about other people’s motivations and uses this to make his cover ups seem realistic. He makes Heather Chandler’s note emotional and believable, playing upon people’s emotions so they don’t suspect her death was really a murder. He paints Kurt and Ram as lovers by providing “evidence” that he thinks people will believe, because “this is Ohio.” He makes broad connections and knows how people think.
Fi: JD is individualistic and authentic. He refuses to change himself for anyone at his school, and thinks Veronica should do the same- like when Veronica compares being popular to having a job and he says “Maybe it’s time to take a vacation.” He has a tendency to self- project, and believes Veronica really wants to harm the other students because he does.
Te: JD takes a methodical aproach to covering up his murders. He gathers “evidence” for Kurt and Ram’s “suicides,” and efficiently executes these murders. He successfully plans the murders and finds a way to manipulate Veronica both times.
Si: JD doesn’t pay much attention to the past or traditions. When Veronica asks if he likes his father, he says he never really thought about it. He does, however, feel a strong connection to his mother, even though she died when he was a child. He deep down feels unloved, likely due to his mother’s suicide, and finally admits to Veronica at the end of the film that this is the real reason why he wants to blow up the school.
Enneagram: 4w5
JD is quirky and individualistic, and somewhat of an outcast at his school. He hates the bullies at his school because they bully other students for being different, something JD can relate to. He feels unloved due to the suicide of his mother when he was a child, causing him to lash out and eventually murder other students. He is focused on his inner pain due to his negative life experiences. He is also very intelligent and knowledgeble, and uses this knowledge to aid him in his crimes. He does not care at all what other people think or about being liked and popular, like a 3 wing, but seems more internally based and information focused.
Klaus Mikaelson from the Originals Personality Type:
Myers Briggs: ENTJ
Te: Klaus is efficient and practical, and becomes aggravated when others do not live up to his standards of efficiency. Klaus is also very goal oriented. He does not remain inactive for long and is always trying to find a means to get whatever it is he wants. He will often act on his own instead of following his siblings’ plan because he believes his way is more efficient. Like in season one when he saves Marcel instead of following the original plan he and Rebekah concocted to save Elijah.
Ni: Klaus is adept at strategy, as Rebekah puts it “there is none more diabolical.” Klaus always develops a plan before acting. He rarely goes into battle without a strategy. He is also very intuitive about people and knows how to manipulate their emotions. He uses his insights about people to his advantage and hardly misses much.
Se: Klaus is very strong and a great fighter due to being the only Original Hybrid. Klaus generally prefers to plan ahead, but can still be very impulsive should the situation demand it. He is great at reading a situation and responding accordingly.
Fi: Klaus cares about very few people, specifically his family. He does not trust others easily and lets few people into his heart. He struggles to connect with people other than his loved ones, who he would do anything for. Klaus is not very ethical, and it takes having a child to finally make him a better person. He does care about the werewolves because he is one of them and feels a connection to them, and is repulsed when he comes across the vampire purists.
Enneagram: 8w7
Klaus believes that the only way to protect his family is to acquire power. He spends the entirety of the Originals vanquishing enemies that could be potential threats to his family. He establishes power in New Orleans because he believes it will protect his daughter from those who would harm her. He can be aggressive and controlling, but the best in him is brought out by Hope, who helps him move to 2. When stressed, he becomes paranoid and secretive at 5. He can also be hedonistic and thrill seeking, as he bores easily.
Temperament: Choleric Sanguine
Klaus is a task oriented, driven individual who is very focused on getting things done. He believes he must be in charge because he believes is the only one who can get things done effectively. He also has a need to be social and can be quite charming, and sometimes very impulsive.
Nancy Drew (2019): Nancy Drew: ENTJ 5w6
Myers Briggs: ENTJ
Te: Nancy is logical and takes a step by step approach to solving mysteries. She always searches for evidence to prove her hunches correct, and is objectively logical and detached from her own emotions when working on a case. She is practical and has little patience for irrelevant emotional expressions and is instead task oriented.
Ni: Nancy is extremely intuitive about people and relies heavily on her hunches to figure out what’s really going on. She is analytical and good at making connections that allow her to find the culprit of a crime. She has a strong vision for her future before she loses her mother and needs to take a break to recover.
Se: Nancy can be very impulsive at times, but her actions always help her achieve her greater goal. She is aware of her physical environment and knows how to push people’s buttons.
Fi: Nancy is closed off and distant, fearing emotional connection after losing someone so important to her. She does, however, love her friends and family very dearly. She’ll do anything to protect them, like solving Lucy Sable’s suicide to save Carson Drew or lying that the Hudsons are innocent to save Ace, while still feeling guilty and not her authetic self.
Enneagram: 5w6
Nancy keeps to herself and is very closed off. She is very secretive and relies on her knowledge of the world around her to solve her problems. She is curious and inquisitive. Nancy distrusts people and has a counterphobic 6 wing. She faces challenges head on so that she and her loved ones don’t get hurt. She comes to rely on her friends for support and security when she learns to let people in again.
Instictual Variant: sp/sx
Nancy is independent and self reliant. She keeps to herself most of the time and prefers to work alone, refusing help from others in the beginning. She forms intense one- on- one bonds with certain people, like Nick. She can be very impulsive at times and quick to anger. She is so- blind and sometimes not aware of what the group wants and has a tendency to go rogue to protect her friends.
OSPP Temperament: Melancholic Choleric
Nancy is a perfectionist who cares about the truth. She wants to solve cases because she is interested in the truth and doing things right. She is analytical and detail oriented when solving cases, and discovers things the police miss. She is also pragmatic and wants to accomplish goals. She is detached and cold, and does not show emotion.
Attitudinal Psyche: LVEF
1L Confident Logic: Nancy believes in a logical explanation for everything. She has a hard time believing in the supernatural until confronted with evidence she can’t deny. She is methodical about finding evidence for Tiffany Hudson’s murder and Lucy Sable’s suicide. She can become frustrated with people when they are not being logical.
2V Flexible Volition: Nancy is a good leader, but can be flexible with her friends and not too pushy. She has no problem telling everyone else what to do, but also doesn’t mind if someone else takes charge. She is efficient and good at organizing her friends in order to accomplish a goal.
3E Insecure Emotion: Nancy has a hard time expressing her emotions and is very closed- off. She is prone to outbursts and has poor regulation over her own feelings. She generally prefers to rely on logic over her own feelings and is skeptical over her own emotions.
4F Unbothered Physics: Nancy isn’t overly concerned over her environment and has a very messy room. She isn’t very focused on her physical senses.
Hello. I was wondering, could you provide a description of what an INFJ 3w2 is like, compared to a 2w3? Thank you.
Other examples found here.
INFJ 2: gifted at figuring out not only what people need, but what they need to hear, in order to shape them toward a greater version of themselves, which can lead them into manipulative behaviors if unhealthy; when healthy, an effective counselor-type personality, able to forewarn of troubles, usually strongly reliant on their relationships and concerned with appropriateness; sometimes with a greater over-reaching vision they want to see come about.
INFJ 3: often excessively status-focused, prone to tunnel vision, and much harder on themselves for perceived laziness and failures; the drive of 3 will develop inferior Se into ‘action mode’ but high Ni may make them severe upon themselves if they lack perfection or miss their goal by mere inches; sometimes prone to unreasonable expectations and standards of personal behavior; often gregarious and well-liked, but hides anything ‘unpleasant’ that shatters the illusion of perfection; very focused on appearances, somewhat out of touch with their true feelings, and prone to Ni/Ti loops (analyzing and refining their future vision, rather than seeing external factors that could alter it).
The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones: Jace Wayland: ISTP 8w7
Ti: Jace tells Clary, “I’ve been hunting demons all my life and in that time I’ve never seen an angel.” Jace believes in logic and evidence, and doesn’t believe in anything he sees as illogical. Jace tells Clary that he sees music as having “no room for emotion”- he sees it as a system with a practical use, for killing demons. He describes the components of music- describes the “mathematical combination” of rhythm, “a simple representation of notes- no interpretation” to “expose demons.” He knows how it works on a fundamental level and this knowledge allows him to use it to his advantage. He factors logic into all of his decisions- he brings Simon along to get Clary to trust him, and for the same reason saves Luke’s life at Clary’s request- not because it is what he wants or is the moral thing to do, but because it serves logic.
Se: Jace is impulsive and acts in the moment. He trusts Clary and Simon based on gut “impulse” because he sees Clary’s potential and realizes that allowing Simon to come along will convince Clary to trust him. Jace is skilled in combat and does most of the fighting throughout City of Bones, relying on instinct in fights. He knows how to manuever his body and is a graceful fighter with fluid movements.
Ni: Jace prefers instinct over planning, but is still very intuitive- he can sense that he can trust Clary right away, but sometimes misinterpets the thoughts and emotions of others, like when Clary explains her kiss with Jace to Simon, and Jace takes it as meaning that the kiss wasn’t “special” to Clary, relying on an immediate interpretation of what is right in front of him, which he believes is more logical, as opposed to reading between the lines.
Fe: Jace can be blunt and stoic, and at times seems unemotional because he prefers to trust logic in his decision making. He tells Clary when she asks him to save Luke- “he’s a dead man, I can’t help him.” He wants to be practical and get Clary to safety, but realizes it is more logical to help her to earn her trust, and also because he cares about her feelings and knows Luke is important to her.
Enneagram: 8w7
Jace, in Clary’s words, “acts like nothing ever hurts him.” He places a lot of importance on being “strong,” because the man who raised him enforced that idea to him his whole life. Jace is also a shadowhunter, a job that doesn’t allow him to express vulnerability- he can’t allow himself to feel. He tells Clary when talking about training an animal that his abusive father then killed- “I cried all night and then I never cried again.” Jace believes there is no room for emotion in his life- he believes his own strength is what enables him and his friends to survive. He is strong to protect them, always saving those weaker than him from danger. His 7 wing is impulsive and he is double feeling repressed- he never fails to act on a goal when he needs to. He lacks the passivity of a 9 wing but seems to have a fun loving side he only shows to Clary.
The Talented Mr. Ripley: Tom Ripley: INFJ 3w2
Myers Briggs: INFJ
Ni: Tom is good at anticipating what other people are going to do next. He is a clever strategist and plans out his crimes. He is intuitive about other people and uses his insights into other people’s thoughts to cover up his murders. Tom skillfully predicts future outcomes and adjusts his plans accordingly. He plans everything he does and is always focused on the big picture.
Fe: Tom always knows what to say to make people like him. He charms Meredith into thinking he’s rich like her, and he charms Marge and Dickie by telling them what they want to hear. He is outwardly emotional and prone to outbursts when he’s upset because he can’t hold his emotions in. He also has no problems with lying about who he is in order to get ahead, manipulating other’s feelings to get what he wants.
Ti: Tom is clever and methodical in his cover ups. He sends letters to himself to make it look like Dickie’s still alive, then forges a suicide note by Dickie to cover up both Dickie’s and Freddie’s deaths when people start to get suspicious of him, and lies to Marge about how he got Dickie’s rings.
Se: Tom relies on clever planning mostly but can improvise in the moment when he needs to. He can sometimes be too impulsive and nearly ruins his own plans, and finds it easier to plan ahead.
Enneagram: 3w2
Tom knows how to charm people into liking him. He manipulates Marge, Dickie and Peter so that he can get ahead. He hates not having money, and mooches off Dickie to enjoy a life he never could have before. He pretends to be Dickie to get Meredith to like him and later impersonates Dickie to keep living the life he desperately wants. He is also very “helpful” to Dickie and Marge- he agrees to keep Dickie’s secret after Silvana’s death, he lets Marge confide in him in order to make her feel loved so he can manipulate her. He needs to feel loved and becomes devastated when Dickie eventually rejects him, his 2 wing disintegrating to 8 rage when he kills Dickie.
Scream: Jill Roberts: INFJ 3w4
Myers Briggs: INFJ
Ni: Jill is a detailed and methodical planner. She carefully plans every bit of her murder schemes, to the point of providing forensic evidence at the crime scene to make it appear as if she were the victim instead of the killer. She plans for every detail- like planting evidence in Sidney’s car to keep her in town long enough to pull off her plan after the first killing and she has Charlie call her as Ghostface in order to remove suspicion from herself.
Fe: Jill wants to be loved and seen as “the star” instead of Sidney. She is jealous of Sidney’s fame and plans to kill her due to this jealousy. She manipulates the emotions of those around her, pretending to be afraid or empathic in order to win others’ sympathy. She is good at pretending to care for her friends, always saying the right thing when they need her to, despite not actually caring about them. She is an extremely unhealthy Fe user, using deception and fake compassion to get what she wants, which is her NiFe end goal of being famous.
Ti: Jill is very inquisitive and intelligent. She is methodical in her murders, especially in faking her own near murder, providing Ti evidence for her supposed attack, in order to bring her Ni goal into fruition. She is cold and logical, knowing what details to manipulate to present herself as the victim.
Se: Out of all the killers in the Scream franchise, Jill comes closest to actually pulling it off. She plans everything down to the smallest detail, but struggles when things don’t go according to plan. When Sidney survives, Jill realizes she has to act fast and kill her before she’s caught, but is very sloppy with the way she goes about it, and in the end this leads to her downfall.
Enneagram: 3w4
Jill is popular and well liked at her high school. She knows how to charm people and get them to like her. She also craves nothing more than to be famous, and will do anything to get there, even kill her own family. Jill tells Sidney, “I don’t need friends, I need fans!” after Sidney confronts her for killing all her friends. Jill wants to be loved and famous for being a “hero,” even if she has to lie, scheme and kill to get there. She even kills her partner in order to be the sole survivor, or the “star.” She also wants to be seen as an innocent victim, which is why she says to Sidney about how to get famous that you just need to have bad things happen to you. She equates being a victim with being special, as an extremely unhealthy 4 wing. She wears it like a badge when she’s wronged, and believes herself to be the victim when her boyfriend dumps her to the point of killing him.
Just an INFJ nerd who likes typing people’s mbti, enneagram, temperament and other systems.
