Hello everyone, I’m Yazan 23 years old from Syria.

And this is my short story:

I left Syria since the war started in 2011, I had a great life there but I lost my house there and my father who passed away with a heart failure accident.

We moved to Lebanon and we lived at Beirut, I studied in an institute electronics then I stopped studying because I started working to help my family, I worked as security guard, then I worked at an NGO that help Syrians in refugees.

After the big explosion that happened in the 4th of August 2020 I lost my job in Beirut where I was working in a clothing store near to down town.

I created this blog for business goal to work online and I am aiming to reach my dreams by helping my family to live then focus on my own dreams.

You might think that I am a spam or someone fake or liar, but please continue reading and believe in me as I believe in Allah!

What I can offer to you is online courses in Arabic language with a real cheap price and you can trust me and trust my work, my mother is an Arabic teacher but she’s not working anymore but I am really good in Arabic literature and I write a lot of poems and quotes so I can share with you some to trust my work. So if you are really interested in helping me by offering me a job in my house and sending me the payment with the trusted office “Western Union” please direct me and I won’t ask you for a lot of money, I can teach you Arabic with 20$-50$ only. You have no idea how is this important to me especially that in Lebanon we are passing through a real hard situation in politics and in financial, we asked for back to Syria but I still have to attend the required years in the Army.

About the cancer, I had cancer in my blood since I was 8 years old, the cancer is leukemia type and I am fighting it with high cost medicine that is not totally covered by the ministry in Lebanon

I am really sorry because I shared this personal story but I really need to work in freelancing to save my family and continue to achieve my dreams because these days are so hard in the earth and especially Lebanon.

It is funny how the words "liberal" and "liberalism", in the US, have a very different meaning from what we say here. Here, "liberal" is more aligned with the right wing in economic matters. Liberals defend the end of state-owned intervention in economics and less taxes, it is more related to that than behaviour or social believes. Liberalism benefits the rich as it also defends the end of public institutions like the health public system or universities. This is why it is associated with right-wingers. On social aspects, they tend to be more conservatives, but maybe you'll see liberal activist who support gay marriage or the legalization of marijuana, but also they are pro-gun and against abortion (individual freedom).

There are left winger liberals, but this is a ehole other storie.

so i’ve seen a lot of these going round, and in honor of fanfic appreciation day i’m going to jump on the bandwagon and share my fic rec list! these are the ones i always love to come back to. they’re all super talented and brilliant - check them out! in no particular order:

a river to skate away on by @frostysunflowers - the best memory loss fic out there, period. incredible writing and fantastic characterization!

turn back the clock (and i’ll try again in the morning) by @madasthesea - time loop plus identity reveal equals fanfiction gold. i have reread this an embarrassing amount of times: the angst is absolutely supreme, and the resolution is immensely satisfying!

alucinari by celluloid - a fantastic fic exploring the effect of ffh on peter. it’s a little dark, but incredibly well written!

runaway by spectra - irondad is upped to the max when peter runs away from home. it’s a cool concept, and executed brilliantly!

when in doubt just keep the faith by sparrowflight246 - this is one of my favorite biodad fics of all time. it’s supremely angsty, but the comfort is well worth it!

goner by @emkayohh / camelotqueen - peter goes after a serial killer in queens. one of the best kidnap fics out there, imo!

let’s kick it by @too-many-bees / civilbores - peter gets an alien disease and deals with it spectacularly badly. amazing hurt/comfort and a fab conclusion

it wasn’t you by @losingmymindtonight - i’m a sucker for fics like these, and this is a shining example. supremely good whump and recovery

the entirety of @tempestaurora‘s whumpvember series - there’s not much i can say that the series doesn’t say for itself: this is one of the best 30-day whump challenges i’ve ever read! each part has incredible effort put into it, and stands alone extremely well

i’ll always find you in the drift by @tempestaurora - this is a crossover with pacific rim, but even if you’re unfamiliar with it this fic is still a fantastic ride and deserves more attention. the characterization is perfect, and it’s filled with brilliant cameos

five times peter parker pretended to be asleep by @blondsak - all-around incredible 5+1 featuring the amazingly-characterized avengers, and great irondad! awesome blend of angst and humor

what if there is no tomorrow? by @iron–spider - it’s another time loop, but this time tony’s inside it. it’s a brilliant reworking of the groundhog day trope to fit mcu characters, and it keeps amazingly well to the original film’s tone

brooklyn by @hailing-stars - i’m usually not a fan of bad guy may stories, but this fic absolutely knocks it out of the park. it also carries a healthy dose of ironmom! (note: this is part six of a series, which is fantastic and sets up this story.)

don’t leave me now by @iron–spider - peter thinks he’s losing his powers, and it leads to a whole lot of fantastic hurt/comfort. one of my favorite fics!

i’m probably guaranteed to have forgotten a bunch of my other favorites on here, but i encourage you to read all these and give the authors some love! happy fanfic appreciation day. 💕
