Imagine being an Information Technology student, your days filled with lectures, coding projects, and dreams of a better future. Then one day, your entire world is upended. You find yourself standing atop the ruins of your home, the bitter wind biting through your clothes as you stare at the devastation stretching endlessly before you. In the blink of an eye, your world has transformed from textbooks and computer screens to survival amid the wreckage of a genocide.

Story written by @rumiandroses

Before the war, Mahmoud was an Information Technology student at Gaza University, harboring dreams of building a brighter future for his family. Those dreams were shattered when the university was bombed, classes were suspended, and his home in Khan Yunis was reduced to ruins. Now, Mahmoud and his family live in a makeshift tent in a displacement camp, fighting to survive without water, electricity, or access to food.

The winter cold seeps through every threadbare inch of the tent, and the howling wind drowns out the silence left by everything they’ve lost. With his father sick and his brother in need of medical care, Mahmoud shoulders the burden of his family’s survival alone. Every day is a battle against hunger and despair, a struggle to find clean water and enough food to keep his loved ones alive.

Despite the ceasefire, the nightmare continues. The streets of Gaza are lined with hollow buildings and shattered glass, a grim reminder that peace is a fragile but unwavering hope. The infrastructure is decimated, jobs are nonexistent, and the people are left to fend for themselves amid the wreckage. Mahmoud's dreams of finishing his education are now intertwined with a desperate plea for survival—for the chance to escape Gaza, to rebuild their lives, to turn the page on this chapter of endless loss.

Your support can help Mahmoud continue his education outside of Gaza, to rebuild what was destroyed, and to keep his family alive through the darkest winter they’ve ever known.

Please consider making a donation to help Mahmoud's family rebuild, or by sharing his story so his call for help can reach others who can.

In a corner of Gaza, my family and I are drowning in destruction, with the echoes of suffering surrounding us. I sat beside my modest tent, hastily erected after losing my home in the latest bombing. The faces of my family tell stories of patience and resilience, with lines of time etched upon them, as if they were records of unforgettable events. 🇵🇸⏳🍉

I once lived in a small home, filled with the laughter and voices of my children. Today, I have become a witness to the agony of displacement. The bombing forced me to flee with my children after a shell struck our home, leaving behind years of memories and simple belongings I never imagined would become unreachable. 🏚️💨

Every morning, I leave my tent and go to work, using a clay oven to provide food for my children. Meanwhile, my youngest son heads to the charity kitchens that offer aid, waiting for long hours under Gaza’s scorching sun. Despite the exhaustion that weighs down his frail body, he carries the food mixed with his tears and returns with a fake smile, hiding behind it the burdens of his struggles. 🍞🥀

At night, when everyone else is asleep, I remain seated at the entrance of my tent, gazing at the dark sky, reminiscing about days gone by… about my home that was once filled with warmth. Yet, I still find remnants of hope in my heart—a hope that one day peace will return, and my children and I will live in a new home, filled with joy. 🌙🏡✨

In moments of solitude, I find peace in prayer and supplication. I plead to God to protect Gaza and its people, to wipe away the dust of sorrow from our hearts. I always repeat🇵🇸🍉🌿

"We are here to remind the world that we are stronger than war, and we will rebuild our lives anew, no matter the cost!" 🙏

loosing my shit over certain ones from lis fandom being happy about people who worked on DE getting fired....🤷🏽

so full disclosure, i really hope that square enix/deck nine did away with the nazis that somehow snuck their way into the company and put horrible shit into true colors bc what the actual fuck - i have zero sympathy if they lost their employment and i hope they never get hired again in any game development space.

even though it wasn't the strongest life is strange game (narratively speaking), it's still sad that they lost their employment so close to the holidays. sure, they "broke up pricefield", but that does not mean that their unemployment should be celebrated. these are real people who have families and bills to pay. the industry has something of a significant turnover rate and it's disgusting behavior to cheer about people losing their jobs because "waaah they broke up our pricefield". like, have some goddamn empathy.

the release of double exposure has really brought out the worst in this fandom and i hope it goes away soon (and lets be real - it probably won't)

"Today, the Israeli occupation committed a massacre against children. More than 50 children were martyred in the bombing of a nursing home, where the bodies of children were removed without heads. Only in Gaza are children without heads. I can't bear all of this. More than 50,000 people have been killed in the Gaza war, and the number is constantly increasing. Please, I don’t want to be among the dead. Please help me and my family leave the war zone. Please!!! 😭"

One day when you’re all grown up and old, and you look back on your life… you’re gonna wish you never spent a single second hating the body you’re in. You’re gonna wish you had taken the leap of faith with that one person. You’re gonna wish you hadn’t been so afraid to submit your art, or writings, or do the trick, or learn the skill, or play the game or post the video. Whatever it is, you’re gonna regret it.

So do it while you still can. In the end, that’s all we have. Is the memories of the experience.

What is happening in Gaza is not just a conflict, but an ongoing massacre that is wiping out entire families

What Is Happening In Gaza Is Not Just A Conflict, But An Ongoing Massacre That Is Wiping Out Entire Families

Tens of thousands of innocent people, including children and women, are being killed in cold blood, and their homes are being destroyed under the Zionist occupation, with the support of terrorist leaders in America and Britain. This killing and destruction continues under international auspices that show no mercy. But the truth will live on, and the blood of the martyrs will continue to tell a story of endless steadfastness.
