The worst thing about people saying “woah who could’ve predicted this” when it comes to riverdale hate is like…I could predict this. I watched this show for years, I read interviews from the creators and cast, I spent years rewatching and paying attention to these characters that I understood everything they did with the show. The superpowers and multiverses? They were hinting and talking about the supernatural elements of the show for years. Going back to the 50s? Ras always wanted to do a season more faithful to the comics. Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead all being in a relationship? When you look back at all of their past relationships, yes it does make sense. Of course you don’t understand a show from seeing a few out of context screen grabs on twitter that isn’t how TV works! That’s why it’s so sad that some people weren’t watching live as it happened because if you weren’t really involved in the conversations about riverdale you aren’t going to understand it as well. I joke about how riverdale is actually a great show but it really does make me sad that some people won’t give it any recognition because they’ve seen a couple crips with cringy dialogue.
