Today Was Our First Official Service, It Was A Mixture Of Canapés.

Today was our first official service, it was a mixture of canapés.

For savoury, there was the wild mush room risotto arancini, tempura fried mackerel with cube chips and lemon and tartare sauce, miniature meatballs and tomato sauce, and the chicken dish on the top right severed on croutons and topped with a plum chutney.

For the sweet canapés there was, the peach sponge, Black Forest tray bake, shortbread topped with whipped cream and lemon curd, whipped cream with orange and chocolate, and coconut macaroons with topped with chocolate drizzle or stuck together with caramel chocolate.

It was stressful but very rewarding even if it was just only 40-50 people. We got to eat the leftovers at the end and they were so good! The risotto balls literally melted in your mouth.

Anyway, Пока/Ciao/Чао, goodnight everyone :)

(Picture of cat to fill up space lol)

I saw this and with the Cyrillic ‘ю’ or ‘yu’ looks like the inverse of the Hangul ‘어’ or ‘eo’, or even ‘ㅏ’ with a ‘ㅇ’ after it. I love learning languages and seeing the similarities or words and alphabets from all over completely different areas of the world. :)

Hey do u wanna hear something Awesome. So the hangul (korean alphabet) equivalent of 'g' looks like this -> ㄱ and the cyrillic (russian, ukranian, etc. alphabet) equivalent looks like this -> г

ISNT THAT SO FUN. THEY ARE LIKE THE SAME THING BUT BACKWARDS

i looooove learning a new language and slowly realizing that i'm starting to understand it more and more. like i'll be watching a movie, an anime or a series in that language and realizing that i recognize way more words than two months ago, that i now understand the order in which these words are placed, that i now know enough about this culture to know where this saying is from ; some days later i understand a sentence without reading the subtitles, i randomly find a post in this language on the internet and i understand what it means... i don't know how to explain this, it just feels like a new world is slowly opening up to you and it's so exciting, you know ?

Yesterday’s prep for tonight’s service, the kitchen smelt absolutely DIVINE! Love being a culinary student, best scholarly choice I made lol.

My partners parents found out I’m learning Bulgarian, and now I feel more pressured to learn more, and learn faster 😮‍💨

Sometimes I just need to hear this instead of convincing myself to procrastinate because “it’s not the right time” or “I have things to do before I study” then never doing the ‘things’ I need to do before studying.

This is my mother fr! For example, if I say the American version of an English word, or if I ‘ma però’, or if I mix up any language/sentence structures of any of the languages she knows, she will IMMEDIATELY correct me and point out why I was wrong 🥲. Like sorry Im dyslexic while you have multiple language degrees lol.

Linguists are like vampires but instead of drinking your blood they harass you about a weird irregularity in your speech that no one else would have noticed.
